Judith has been a member of the Royal Society of
Miniature Painters, London, England for many years,
Judith Syverson is noted for her delicate portrayal in
miniature of a wide range of subjects. Her paintings
were recently shown at the Smithsonian Museum in
Washington D.C. with the World Exhibition of Fine Art
Miniatures. An award winning artist, Syverson is a
longtime participant in the C. M. Russell Art Show &
Auction in Great Falls, Montana.
Miniature painting is an art form of historical
significance worldwide. Traditional miniatures, like fine
jewelry, have a special beauty of their own. Syverson
creates her paintings in the classical sense of the
traditional English miniature. Subjects range from
wildlife, children and landscape to Victorian era
portraiture.
Inspired by her great grandparent's stories of
ranching in the Big Timber and the Rattlesnake areas of
Montana, Syverson especially enjoys portraying
homesteads of the West. Many of her pieces are
documented with stories.
Three decades of painting miniatures have resulted
in her work being housed in collections worldwide. She
maintains a studio in the art community of Bigfork where
both visitors and small groups are welcomed by
appointment.
